Heard is an iPhone app that transcribes audio and video you share or pick, then helps you copy context, key points, and reply drafts. This page explains what the app stores and what it sends to transcription and language providers.

What the app collects

Heard only works with files you choose:

• Audio or video you share into Heard, or pick from Files or Photos
• Transcripts, translations, summaries, and reply drafts created from that media
• Settings you choose, such as target language and model names. Those stay on the device
• API keys you paste in Settings. Those stay in the iOS Keychain on this phone

To transcribe and write context, Heard sends the chosen audio (or a compact audio track from a video) and the resulting text to the providers you configure, such as Deepgram, OpenAI, and OpenRouter. For a video, a few still frames are included so the context can describe what is on screen. Those requests are the media and text needed to do the job. Heard does not send your Apple ID, contacts, or location.

Where it is stored

Transcripts and imported media stay on your iPhone in the app's local database. API keys stay in Keychain. Heard does not create a Heard account and does not host your recordings on a Heard server.

What we do not collect

• No advertising ID, no tracking across other apps
• No analytics SDKs, no crash reporters that identify you
• No live microphone recording. Heard uses files you already have
• No contacts or location

Children

Heard is meant for people who already have voice notes or videos they want to read. Do not share recordings of children without a parent's permission. The app is not directed at children under 13.

Retention and deletion

You can delete one item, selected items, or all history in the app. Deleting the app from your phone removes local transcripts, media, and keys. Providers may keep copies of requests for a limited time under their own policies. If you want help removing local data, email hello@atberth.com.

If this policy changes, the date at the top will change. The latest version will always be at this URL.
